Not long before ZK’s disappearance and subsequent transformation into a duck, his housekeeper and catlike wife of sorts, Gatomon hastily decided to take on the role of a ninja.
At the same time, she was thrust upon the role of mother to ZK’s son from the future, Nero and his surrogate daughter, Terra. This was a large turning point in the life of the “modest” Digimon.
Gatomon’s training with Akarui helped with her fighting techniques, but he could never prepare her for the strife of motherhood. With Nero’s spontaneity and Terra’s moodiness, the taxing times never ceased, but Gatomon’s natural motherly instincts wouldn’t let her allow the children to wander. She kept everything in line and kept Nero and Terra out of unreasonable trouble.
Of course, being the son of ZK and a vampire at that, Nero would keep to his own way regardless.
Terra on the other hand was a faithfully obedient child, always happy to help her “Mother” with whatever she asked (Gatomon’s pride wouldn’t let her ask of much though).
So, for the past year, Gatomon, Nero, and Terra have been living with the occasional pop up of the duckly man of the house, just enough to keep up his end of the relationship while still being a duck.
Gatomon herself has grown into no more than a chuunin level ninja, but has still persevered in her pursuit of her own goals. Sure, they’ve been put on the back burner since becoming a mom, but her ninjaness is growing steadily. Her techniques in lightning and darkness are simple, but work for their purposes. Along with her, the Christmas Presents from Santa Khlaus, Nightmare and Burst, have grown in strength, but not size. The two baby dragons seem to hold great potential, but are missing something. Gatomon also cares for them like her own children.
All in all, she has been a mother and wife (type female) in the ZK’s home in Zeik’s castle and she remains faithful to the man she loves, though he’d never catch on.
