An Upgrade In Rank

_-Kayla would emerge from the darkstream, back to her calm and collectedness that was disturbed by Cross. Just seeing his face caused kayla to undergo an burst of almost uncontrolable rage. However, she left before she could act on it. She reemerged in a canyon like area, after taking care of some things within the stream. She then walked around for a few hours observing the area, amoung other things while waiting for a prctor. She meant to take an exam for sometime now and thought, no time like the present.-_

((Agh, bad choice of place... a canyon))

-*Kham appeared just as Kayla appeared right in front of her. He came so fast it was almost as if he was there before she was. He completely ignored her altered appearance and smiled-*

You left the house...

-*He said with his arms crossed and a rather plain expression on his face. He clenched his fist, which caused a minor quake. The canyon turned into a sheet of silver diamond.-*

"It was for good reason.."

-_Kayla said speaking about cross as she looked around at the canyon change to silver upon khams arrival. She had never seen the power cosmic used before so she would have no idea what the hell was going on.-_

-*Kham scanned Kaylas body, and noticed several bruises with his diamond eye. Bullet wounds, she fought cross. Kham began laughing and deduced that Cross made an appearance at the house as ordered.-*

"Cross fought you... And he shot you. You saw him, got enraged and left. Unacceptable, you must never let your opponent know your emotions during a fight."

-*Kham turned his back glints of light could be seen sparkling around him he breathed in and out the canyon rumbled. he loved this feeling-*

"Anywho, how was the mission, looks like you spend a couple years in the darkstream"

"Four long ones.."

-_Kayla would say as she began thinking about how she was going to fight kham. Obviously kham knew everything so she wouldn't ask him how he knew about her situation. She began looking around the area getting accustomed to it's.."current" state._-

"Uh huh... and now you think you are befitting of one of 'my' personal ranking exams."

-*Kham extended his left arm, summoning the cosmos destroyer an epic 7 foot hammer that bled crimson cosmic energy. He spun it around before setting it on the ground causing it to crack beneath him-*

"My my my... these kids really have gotten ambitious. Well, are you ready"

-*Kham turned aroud and smiled a bit-*

-_Kayla would be startled at the giant ass hammer but wouldn't make show an expression. She nodded her approval and would simply reach for her back, looking for her ninja pouch but would remember it was lost at the hands of a demon. This would force her to change her streadgy .-_

"You're without your ninja tools... Your primary source of power. Let's see how you fare."

-*Kham tapped the hammer on the ground before organizing a battle strategy. He nodded to himself and began earth bending the canyon began to shift and turned. Kham then turned around and proceeded to kick Kayla in the face, by using the hammer as a hoist to get his foot up there in the first place-*

_-Kayla didn't see the kick coming, but she could still react to it. She placed her hands up and blocked the kick but was still overpowered by kham. She was sent flying onto a large wall of silver. She would catch herself on the rock on all fours like a spider of sorts as she looked up at kham who was kinda far. Suddenly, the rock would glow black as a wave of immense darkness was shot at kham. Kayla's plan was intiated._-

"I could've killed you earlier"

-*Kham said as he trailed Kaylas body hammer in hand, he stuck his feet out towards the wave of darkness and a silver static shock like circular board surrounded his feet, it clashed with and overpwoered the blast, he aimed to land on the rock that kayla was still clung too and smash her to ribbons. While he fell, he scattered diamond fragments into the air... glints of light can be seen throughout the place-*

"Why didn't you..?"

-_Kayla's voice came from under behind. obviously she slipped into a portal that lead into the darkstream and back out behind kham. She then attempted to kick him upwards from behind. Not noticible were the hundreds of portals placed about the area effectively. A part of kayla's plan._-

-*Kham took the kick, well he rolled off of it and was parallel upside down above kayla with the cosmos destroyer brought upwards*-

"You'd be dead of course"
-*He brought the hammer down upon Kayla in front of her body attempting to end it right here and now, the diamond fragments began to take the form of swords-*

"..."

-_Kayla would wave her hand across her face, manipulating the dark wind. This would guide the hammers swing away from Kay's body and leave kham wide open. She would then at almost the same time move her left hand infront of khams exposed flank.

She then fired a spary range blast of darkness. Hopefully damaging kham while propeling her into the sky. She then did a handsign as her hands set ablaze with the dark flame and wind._-

((Ah, much better))

-*Kham broughth the hammer around, it was lighter than Air to him and he could move it around freely, he smited the blast of darkness elsewhere and landed on a platform of diamonds he looked upwards to see Kayla had risen in there. Kham had a really bad sense of Deja'vu right now, but he couldnt recall where it came from. He felt like he was about to say what he was going to say before already... oh well-*

"You do not fear death?"

-*Kham said, as the diamond fragments grew into human sized arms that numbered in the thousands, they attempted to grab kayla wherever she may be flying at sesmic speeds and hold her in place in the air-*

"It's an inevitability."

-_Kayla said as she began to nose dive toward the ground. She held her blazing hands forward as she created two portal shields infront of her. They would gobble up the arms and spit them back out from one of the hundreds portals in the sky that were yet to be noticed. There they would continueously strike each other due to the way the portals were conviently set up, not allowing them to bother anyone,

Once she connected to the ground, she would do so in a knelt position with both her hands stuck in the ground. Under her glew black along with the ground under where kham was floating. From it would erupt a piller of dark flaming energies that was aimed at kham. Or was it? something was different about it.-
-

-*Deja'vu struck Kham again as he continued to stratch his head, he took note of the various portals surrounding the area and where the arms spout out to at their precise points however... he simply snapped his fingers using his carbon warping technique that he aquired no too long ago and surrounded kayla with them after she shot her blast at kham, they would proceed to close in on her accordingly. Some attempting to grab while others attempting to global fist-*

"Death is NOT inevitable, we all do not die... Do not accept death, do not even accept its harbinger. In this case... I am deaths harbinger. And you will have a near death experience today"

-*Kham said, the remaining arms that did not stirke Kayla would add to the diamond paltform he was standing on, increasing his radius and defesne providing a more than sustainable defense for the dark flaming energies. Kham then leapt off the platform before the blast was over towards Kayla, hammer at the ready-*

"Heh, that confidence of yours."

-_Kayla said closing her eyes as the dark wind would pulse intensly!! from her body, blowing the arms that appeared around off in various directions. the winds abilities not able to drain them due to the fluxuating with the power cosmic. However, it got them away temporarily. As for the flaming blast. It would split upon reaching the diamond platform, avoiding it completely and flying toward the air at increased speeds.

They were all being controlled by kayla's mind as they all hit their own individual portal as they were transported to the darkstream. There they would charge up, not requiring kayla to do it herself. So, kayla would wait for kham to get rather close point blank even, making sure her calculation of kham dodging the attack she was attempting to do hard to impossible. -_

"Will be the death of you."

-_So the black mass glowing under her was actually a portal that she backed off of slowly as it spewed giant flaming blasts of the dark stream. The heads of the attacks, nawing at kham with fangs and such. it was as if the attack was alive. It would attempt to maim, burn, attack kham horribly, eating any attack he threw and transporting it to the stream. Kayla stood ready, controlling everything with her head.-_

-*Seeing as how Kayla can now control elements simultaneously, Kham began to mentally fuse the arms into a giant mega super arm that would take more than a wisp of dark wind to stop. He surrounded himself in a shield of psychokenetic energies, Kham kept increasing his density as he descended towards Kayla who probably didnt know he could do that so the time he took to reach her would throw her off. He now appeared in front of Kayla instantly. He plowed through the projectiles ahead of him in an effortless fashion spinning the cosmos destroyer in front of him as he fell-*

"It's kept me alive thus far....

-*He said as he slammed into Kayla Kham weighed the size of an apartment building now bringing the mountain down upon her in the process He waited to see the results before he acted further. There had to be more to this whole darkness business than blasts and such... however, Kayla had an awful lot to learn-*

(*sigh* =| )

_-Kayla was suprised at the way Kham handled things. She wondered how he knew what she was going to do before she did. And how he knew exactly how to handle it. No wonder Kham was sol strong, his various abilites allow him access to so much. This must be the power cosmic Tj talks about, an limitless source power.

Anywho, kayla would indeed be pummled into the ground, her body getting crushed under the pressure of kham. She would release a grunt of anguish. She layed there under Khams feet, she had lots to learn.-_

-*Kham preformed various earthbending motions, removing the silver rocks and rubble from around Kayla's body, ther was still a giant looming fist over head. He kept that there, when he was finished he saw that Kayla was beneath him gasping for breath. He gave Kayla his analysis-*

"So, I've deduced that this whole dark stream thing... is an alive entity and a place that you can control with your mind. It gives your techniques life like properties... You have evolved from using one element at a time to using multiple elements simultaneously to preform various tasks which is akin to Atra in a sense. Not only that, but you can warp variouis places by leaving trails of your chakra through out the air. When you utilize this places you can siphon attacks through this chakra portals and such. All in all, your development is worth of a Jounin rank."

-*Kham hoisted Kayla up and sat her up against the wall and began to lecture, much like he did TJ. Believe it or not, Kham thought of Kayla as his own daughter... it was a tough love kind of relationship-*

"But, there is likely more that I have not seen... because you did not move from your position, and I noticed the blast behind me that you shot earlier dip into these portals you use, I had a hunch that you were going to fire them back at me when I got close enough. From the begning, I took not of these portals which is why I used the diamond arms to test my theory. It's not the Power Cosmic, but it's simply being observant. Did you not think that an over use of the same power over and over again would not allow me to notice it's functions?"

-*Kham sighed and turned around looking at the expansive canyon-*

"And why in the world did you pick a canyon for a ranking exam? The environment for people who use elemental chakras is the best place for combat. Though your abilties are that of Jounin your though process is still that of a genin. You must reveal as little as possible to your opponent, the element of suprise is the best thing we Shinobi have on our side. From what I've seen, your portals and your life like blasts were your trump card. What say you... Kayla?"

-*Kham turned back around to see if Kayla had anything to say...-*

__Kayla would make her way to her feet as kham was giving her veery meaning ful lecture. She didn't think she was smart, but she thought she was smarter than s genin. Khams words hit deep and she took it all to heart. All the words kham about her was true blue. -_

"Your words hit home. I agree I have lots of work to do."

-_She said walking past him and looking down. She pondered her goals and figured that surpassing Kham should be on her list.-_

"The only way for me to really know if you understood what I said is another exam in the future. I'll give you special jounin (I hate the special jounin color) and a higher rank ring.... And I have another suprise for you as well"

-*Kham awayed his hammer, and stood next to kayla who utterly towered over him. To compensate he floated off the ground a bit with diamond eye aglow. He reached into his pocket and took out an A rank lightning ring and handed it to Kayla along with an animal type box weapon. The lightning Anubis. It's abilities only known to Cross-*

"Presents... from Cross. My advice to you... is to go train and hone your abilities and work more on your hand to hand combat which is what I trained you in first, you need not reject my teachings. You've got the projectile thing down pact, but what if your opponent insists on getting in close like myself? So many aspects of combat...."

-*Kham turned and looked at the canyon, in one smooth motion of his hand the canyon reverted back to normal random rock*-

"Now go... you have work to do, and take this as well"
-*Kham handed Kayla twin swords that were Zanpakuto, he tossed them both to kayla-*

-_Kayla didn't have any pockets to carry her various new gifts given to her by kham. So instead she watched him throw them at her as she opened up handsized portals swallowing up the various items except her blades. She had never used a weapon before and she grabbed them and looked at them with interest.-_

"I'm off."

-_She said as she turned around and began walking away. Dragging her swords on the ground. She had to find a way to use her new found stuff.-_
